Invader!

Looks like my attempt to stop the badger coming into my garden and digging up my vegetable plot has failed!

I have the feeling that for every hole I block he’s just going to dig another one!

Any suggestions?

  1. We have the same problem, so we've started putting complete dog food and dried fruit at the opposite end of the garden, and it's working (mostly). We use wood pellet cat litter, and have scattered the peed on stuff with some success but the best advice seems to be to get a man to pee on the bits you want to keep them off of!

    1. A job for the husband later - after he's downed a few beers :-)

    2. If you're OK with the garden smelling a bit like a urinal...just a thought.

  2. Actually, I've heard that human hair is a bit of a deterrent, but the male pee smell seems to do the trick (even with gophers!!!).

Also, we have crazy bunnies and we sprinkle ground chayanne pepper on the vegetables to keep them from actually eating any (though be careful to wash your lettuce or it might be a bit spicy!)

    1. Peppered lettuce! I'm liking the sound of that :-)

  3. ... and don't plant sweetcorn. Ours got destroyed by marauding badgers once. Seriously, it was like an explosion had gone off...
